Soup Race coming Friday, June 26

14th Annual Alphabet Soup is June 26

Mark down Friday, June 26 on your calendar. Plan on being at I-80 Speedway. It’s the 14th annual Alphabet soup Race, one of I-80 Speedway’s longest running events. This year’s Soup will once again include the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), the Cornbelt Clash (CBC) and the MARS DIRTcar Series as they collide at I-80 Speedway. As the three series are racing in the Liberty 50 at the Adams County Speedway the following night and the CBC and MARS will be at the Park Jefferson Speedway on Thursday, June 25 you can anticipate a strong field of Super Late Models.

Last year’s Soup Race was one of only two rainouts at I-80 in 2014. In 2013, “the Reaper” Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa scored an impressive win at the Soup Race. That earned him a provisional into the Silver Dollar National which he ended up using. He started 34th against the best in the national and had the lead by lap 47 only to tangle with a lapped car a short time later.

Other drivers expected include; Defending CBS and MLRA Champion Chad Simpson, defending MARS Champion Tony Jackson, Jr., Terry Phillips (a many time winner at I-80), Jesse Stovall, the Eckrich Brothers, Kyle Berck, Tad Pospisil and many more of the best Super Late Model drivers in the Midwest.

Also racing on the Soup night will be the Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars and the GOTRA. Pit Gate opens at 4pm, Grandstands at 5:30 pm with racing at 7:15 pm. Grandstand tickets are $20 for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12) with 5 and under free as always. Pit passes will be $30.

I-80 Speedway is located one block north of Interstate 80 Exit 420, halfway between Omaha and Lincoln. The Physical Address is 13909 – 238th Street, Greenwood, NE.
