Spring Meltdown to feature Nebraska 360 Sprints & Malvern Bank Super Late Models

I-80 Speedway will kick off its 25th season of racing on April 6 & 7 with the annual Spring Meltdown. Actually action begins on Thursday, April 5 with an open practice from 6 pm until 9 pm. This year the Meltdown will feature the Nebraska 360 Sprints and the Malvern Bank Super Late Models.

The Nebraska 360 Sprints will start out on Friday, April 6 with heats, mostly likely a B feature and a standard $1,000 to win, $350 to start feature.

Then on Saturday, the stakes will get bigger with more racing action with the Saturday night feature paying $3,000 to win and $350 to start. Last year at I-80 Speedway the Nebraska 360’s opened up a week later with Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Thomas Kennedy winning both features. Aurora’s Ryan Roberts is the defending champion of the Nebraska 360 Sprint Series.

The Malvern Bank Series Super Late Models will kick off their 11th year on Friday, Aprl 6 with heats and twin preliminary features each paying $1,000 to win and $150 for 24th and $125 below that if necessary.The top five finishers in each feature will qualify for the saturday feature. Then on Saturday after more preliminary action, the Malvern Bank feature will pay $3,000 to win and $400 to start. Tad Pospisil of Norfolk is the defending Malvern Bank series champion.

Compacts will race a complete program on Friday, with Hobby Stocks running a complete program on Saturday night. Racing gets underway Friday at 7 pm and at 6 pm on Saturday night.
