I-80 Speedway Racing Season just over ten weeks away

The 2018 racing season at I-80 Speedway is just over ten weeks away. This year will be the 25th year of operation for I-80 Speedway.Things kicks off on Thursday, April 5 with an open practice from 6 pm til 9 pm. Then things get serious on April 6 & 7 with the annual Spring Meltdown. The Meltdown features the Malvern Bank Super Late Models and the Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars running complete shows both nights. Unsanctioned Compacts will be racing on Friday, April 6 with Unsanctioned Hobby Stocks racing on April 7.

The following weekend its the Bugeater Bash on April 13 & 14 featuring Mods, SportMods, Bragging Rights Late Models and Stock Cars. Then on Friday, April 27 the NASCAR Whelen All American Series weekly racing swings into action.

In addition to weekly NASCAR action, I-80 Speedway will feature the Bobby Parker Memorial for Nebraska 360 Sprints on May 4, the GO 50 for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on May 20, the annual Charlie Clark Memorial on May 27 and we even have a Demolition Derby on the schedule for Saturday, June 23.

In July, it’s time for crown jewel of I-80 racing the Eighth Annual Silver Dollar Nationals to be held from July 19 thru 21. The Silver Dollar Nationals gets bigger ever year and will once again pay $53,000 to win the Super Late Model feature and has became one of the Crown Jewel events for dirt track racing across the country as it continues to feature both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the USMTS Modifieds.

As the season winds down its the Speedy Bill Memoiral on August 24, All Star Sunday (championship night) on Sunday, September 2, the Midwest Fall Brawl on September 29 and then the season comes to a close on October 12 & 13 with the annual Cornhusker Classic.
