GO 50 brings the best Late Models to I-80 Speedway

When the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolls into I-80 Speedway for the GO 50 on Tuesday, May 23, the driver at the top of the Lucas Oil series point standings will probably be a very familiar name. Scott Bloomquist is not only the defending champion of the Lucas Oil series and a two-time Silver Dollar Nationals Champion but perhaps the best dirt late model driver in history.

Bloomquist’s resume sports several hundred wins, multiple national series championships and multi wins in virtually every major dirt late model race in the country. The worst part for the competition is that he does not appear to be slowly down and will be the man to beat at the GO 50.

But there will be challengers and lots of them as the Lucas Oil series brings the best of the best to I-80 Speedway. Josh Richards is in the Best Performance Motorsports car this year and a threat to win every time he takes to the track. Jonathan Davenport, Jimmy Owens and Don O’Neal all have won the Silver Dollar Nationals trophy.

Then there are drivers such as Tim McCreadie, Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb, Jr., Earl Pearson, Jr., Steve Francis, Devon Moran and several good rookie canditates and a bunch of talented regional drivers that will pose major threats to Bloomquist walking away with the GO 50 hardware. The bottom line is that it should be one heck of a race.

Unsanctioned A Mods will also be racing on May 23 with the feature paying $2,000 to win. Adult Grandstand Admission is $30 and Pit Passes are $40.
